Service:

  • We are making use of an application called Teachable and have labelled this site as Des and Gill’s Career Hub. Teachable, Inc. ("Teachable") provides an online course creation platform designed to deliver massive open online courses, commonly referred to as MOOCs, (the “Services”), which enables end-users (“Students”) to connect with independent instructors (the “Instructors,” collectively with Students, “you” or the “Users,” each a “User”) who provide live and pre-recorded instruction, digital goods, and learning services (the “Courses”) through https://teachable.com/ and subdomains, mobile applications, and other media managed by Teachable (collectively, the “Sites”).
  • The workshops available on the teachable platform are designed and intended for Psychometrists, Psychologists, Registered Counsellors as well as interns who would like to learn more about offering a service in career guidance. If additional courses are introduced advertising will be clear in indicating who the courses and modules are intended for.
  • The course content is structured around easy and short instructional videos that works alongside the written manual or reference documents.
  • Workbooks and reference docs can be downloaded directly. However, videos are not available for download. The modules are structured in a linear manner; thus, you can only proceed to content once you have completed previous content. This ensures users are encouraged to work through all content. Delegates are also prompted to answer multiple choice questions along the way. Upon completion of all the material, delegates will reach the end of the module and receive an automated certificate of completion.
  • Multiple choice questions are employed to monitor understanding and completion of content. Delegates will be required to achieve 70% on all their questions in order to complete the course. They will be able to attempt questions twice. If they receive less than 70% overall and have attempted questions more than twice, the Owner will be prompted and personal attention and support will be offered to the user.
  • The certificate of completion will include all relevant details relevant to their continued professional development. However, this course does not claim to accredit or certify users but rather offer a depth of information, knowledge and insight into different methodologies.
  • Users will have lifetime access to the Teachable platform. However, they are requested to complete their courses and MCQ’s within the year they register, in order to ensure CPD credits are allocated to them.
  • CPD points can only be awarded, upon completion of content and achievement of 70% in the MCQ’s. The teachable site monitors user activity and will indicate rate and extent of completion. It will also not allow the user to generate a certificate without having passed the 70% minimum requirement.

Confidentiality and Privacy:

  • Secure access is strictly maintained to ensure confidentiality.
  • In order to register and gain access to this content, delegates will be required to create a secure online account via Teachable which includes their HPCSA registration details.
  • Users agree that the details supplied are accurate and complete. If at any time these details change, the users commit to updating their profile account via teachable.
  • CPD points are dependent on accurate details provided by the users. Thus, Des and Gill’s Career Hub cannot be responsible for non-allocation of points due to inaccurate details being provided.
  • Please note in order to grant CPD points user details will need to handed over to registering bodies. Thus, consent is offered to hand over course completed, name, surname, email address and registration number.
